Our Hotel & It’s History
Losehill House Hotel & Spa, originally built in 1914 by the CHA walking charity, began its life as an Arts and Crafts guesthouse on the site of an 18th-century farmhouse. For nearly 90 years, it served as a cherished retreat for walkers and ramblers, including those instrumental in the establishment of the Peak District National Park. Nestled in a valley between Lose Hill and Win Hill, and named after a legendary 7th-century Saxon battle, the hotel stands at the heart of some of England's finest walking country, deeply connected to the area's rich natural and cultural heritage. It has always served as a peaceful retreat and possesses what the current owners describe as “good bones” - an enveloping, kind, and welcoming feel that immediately puts people at ease.
